Britney Spears was born in McComb, Mississippi, but spent most of her childhood growing up in Kentwood, Louisiana. The Spears family consists of Britney, father Jamie, mother Lynn, brother Bryan and sister Jamie-Lynn. Britney has 2 children of her own, Sean Preston and Jaden James. Britney Spears is an immensely popular pop star who is undeniably one of the most photographed celebrities of her time. Despite her success, Spears has often become a victim of her own fame. Over her career 10-year career, Spears has had many drastic ups and downs, but seems to have overcome them and is currently enjoying on a comeback.
Spears first gained recognition when she appeared on the talent show Star Search and, although she didn’t win, the appearance paved the way for Spears to be cast on The New Mickey Mouse Club. The show featured up and coming singers and dancers such as Christina Aguilera and Spears' future boyfriend Justin Timberlake. The show ended when Spears was 13 and she then began working on her own music career.
In 1998, Spears released her first album entitled Baby One More Time, which featured her first hit singles Baby One More Time and You Drive Me Crazy. Spears released her second album, entitled Oops, I Did It Again in May of 2000 and followed it up with the albums Britney, In The Zone, Blackout and most recently, Circus. Britney is currently revving up for her new nationwide tour, which will begin in New Orleans on 3/3/09 and conclude in Uncasville, Connecticut on 5/02/09. After the U.S tour is complete, Britney will then take the tour overseas to London.
