Miley Cyrus was born November 23, 1992 to Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus. Her birth name was Destiny Hope Cyrus. Miley grew up on a farm in Nashville, Tennessee and attended school at Heritage Middle School where she was a cheerleader. Now she goes to Options for Youth and has a private tutor on the set.
Miley first became interested in acting around the age of nine. Her first acting job was as a guest on her fathers television series Doc. She played the role of a girl named Kylie.
Miley just celebrated her 16th birthday. On October 5, 2008, she had a big bash in the Disneyland Theme Park. Her dad commented about how hard it was to surprise her. He says that it is getting harder to surprise Miley in any way. All though she is young, she loves what she is doing.
Miley Cyrus was 12-years-old when she started working on the Hannah Montana Show. She portrays Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana in the television series Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel.
In October 2006 Miley Cyrus released a CD. This CD had eight songs on it from the show. Miley started her solo career in 2007. The release debut of her album "Meet Miley Cyrus" was on January 23, 2007. In 2008, she released the album "Bolt" and recorded the song, "I thought I Lost You." This song earned her a nomination in the Golden Globes. The newest album, "Breakout," was released July 22, 2008. This album is a declaration of Miley's Artistic Independence. The album has eight songs that she helped write. "Breakout" does not involve the Hannah Montana Franchise. Hannah Montana: The Movie is due to release April 10, 2009.
