Rihanna

Robyn Rihanna Fenty, better known by her middle name Rihanna, was born on February 20, 1988 to Ronald and Monica Fenty in Saint Michael, Barbados. While attending the Combermere School, she started a singing group with a couple of her friends and soon got her big break. While producer Evan Rogers was vacationing with his wife in her native land Barbados, Rihanna got her chance to audition for him. Evan Rogers loved her and soon Rihanna went to live with him and his wife. Roger, Rihanna and his partner Carl Sturken created material in the U.S and used it for demos to send to several recording companies. Def Jam happened to be one of the recording companies that received Rihanna’s demo and requested Rihanna in for an audition. Rihanna blew them away and signed to Def Jam instantly.

Rihanna debuted in the summer of 2005 with hit single “Pon de Replay” from her album “Music of the Sun”. The album proved a success for Rihanna and soon she was back with her second “A Girl Like Me” in 2006. The album included song “SOS," which was a hit single also for Rihanna. The album got her four Billboard Music Awards including the Female Artist of the Year. In her third album “Good Girl Gone Bad,” which was released in 2007 with lead single Umbrella reaching the top place on the Billboard’s Hot 100, Rihanna sheds her innocent look for a more fierce look. Going off the success of “Good Girl Gone Bad,” Rihanna went on to re-release the album entitling it “Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded.”
